Joanna Kambourian is a graphic designer and printmaker and casual lecturer in printmaking at Southern Cross University. She spent some time at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn during the course of her studies, specializing in book binding and printmaking.
Artists’ books have become an important part of her practice, and she likes to work across media combining traditional, digital and commercial print techniques including letterpress and typography, paste-ups and stencil art.
Joanna is a recent recipient of the Australia Council’s ArtStart grant, proposing to set up and manage the Lismore Art Space in Lismore NSW. The space now hosts her studio “Ms. Browns Lounge” and 5 other established and emerging artists in individual studios and runs workshops, events, exhibitions and runs other creative projects including the Artist Trading Card Project I & II. An enthusiastic emerging artist, Jo has exhibited work both here in Australia, New York and in the UK. Joanna Kambourian
