Yvonne Twining

Yvonne began her love affair with leather in 1974, and with the passage of time has delved into most aspects of this fascinating craft from the traditional, through to sculpture and including footwear. She is an accredited member of Craftsouth and a founding member of the Leatherworkers’ Guild of SA Inc (est 1980 but now defunct).

Yvonne’s work has been exhibited throughout Australia & New Zealand and she has had broad teaching experience, from individuals to large classes including many Textile Fibre Forums (Mittagong, Orange, Horsham, Geelong, McGregor (summer & winter), Fibres West ’99, Flinders Fibre School, Briz-vegas, Rockhampton and Text-Isle).  Yvonne’s main direction now is with soft chrome tanned leathers, both plain and multi coloured and with varying surface textures, exploring non-lasted footwear, bags and accessories.
